Latest Pole Vault Message from NFHS
Read Message from NFHS Rules Interpreters.
NFHS Pole Vault Ruling: "Homemade marks (marks not directly placed by the manufacturer per today's specs) on poles are not acceptable. (this includes pre-1995 poles)". The intent of the NFHS is to no longer allow poles unless marked by the manufacturer per today's specs. It would be possible for the manufacturer to re-mark the poles to match the current rules if they were returned. Therefore, improperly marked poles must be sent back to the manufacturer for re-rating and stamping. This is the only way that it can be assured that there has been no tampering and that the pole actually fits the inscribed rating. This protects the coach and the athlete, as well as the manufacturer.
